Four Seasons Campground
The Ovens
Fundy National Park
When planning a camping trip in Maine and looking for a lakeside camping
spot, check out Four
Seasons Campground in Naples. It's on Long Lake and
has accommodations for power boats as well as canoes, etc. The sites are
nice size, most in among the pines. Large group tenting spot with big
barbecue grills and picnic tables. Playground, game room, small store
and VERY close to Sebago Lake. Excursions could include a ride on the
Songo River Queen through some of the oldest (and longest in use) locks,
visiting quaint antique shops, and gift shops. And there is ALWAYS the
ever-popular yard sale. We found Four Seasons to be a restful spot where
we could unwind and enjoy our long weekend; we hope to go back again soon!

One of our favorite spots in our trip to Canada was The
Ovens in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The Ovens are natural
caves that boats could maneuver right into from the water (maybe pirates
stored their treasures there!). Most of the campsites are on the water's
edge, overlooking a beautiful bay. There are wooded sites as well. You
can rent rubber boats to explore the caves from the water or take a gentle
hike to view them from the cliffs. Hiking you can actually get into the
caves safely and easily. Small gift shop and store on premises; seaman's
museum in the town. Memorable spot! Bud and Marsha

Our most favorite (2001) vacation spot has to be Fundy
National Park in New
Brunswick. Not only is the exchange rate highly in our favor, the Park
is outstanding. It's clean, big sites, incredible service areas (kitchen
for rainy day meal preparation complete with wood stove and picnic tables
---indoors!!), hiking areas, pool, many picnic areas, biking, wilderness
camping for those who like to "walk in", and minutes away from
the highest tides in the world. If you get a chance, GO! Bud and Marsha
